Guelph Transit launched their new On Your Way reloadable fare cards on January 17th, 2020.
They are now available for purchase at certain retailers and city facilities, including library branches and recreation centres.as it begins to phase out paper tickets.
An online portal has also launched on the city’s website that will allow customers to manage and add to their cards, and get balance protection in the event their card is ever lost or stolen.
All of the buses in Guelph Transit’s fleet have had a new farebox system installed and so far there hasn’t been any glitches with the new card although Guelph Transit is prepared for them.
Monthly passes will no longer be sold as of March 18 and paper tickets will be discontinued starting on March 31. Transit customers will be still able to use existing tickets until May 31. They can also have them uploaded onto the new card at any city facility.
The cards are free but only until May 1st. Lost, stolen, replacements or new cards will cost $5.00 after that date. *** Help us advocate for these cards to be free – taaguelph.com/membership ***
