Good transit is essential for members of our community to access jobs, school, healthcare… opportunity.
Transit helps to reduce traffic and pollution, which benefit both riders and non-riders alike.
And it’s more than just Guelph. Good transit helps our whole region: it provides access to jobs, creates jobs, revitalizes neighbourhoods, and saves money on infrastructure and vehicle costs.
Transit in our community is struggling. Fares are not fare for all, service has not kept up with growth, buses are often late and often don’t get people where they need to go in a reasonable amount of time. What is to be done?
Transit Action Alliance of Guelph (TAAG) exists to make transit better- by riders, for riders.
The Transit Action Alliance of Guelph (TAAG) was born in 2018 when transit riders gathered together after the Mayors’ Transit Forum.
TAAG then got to work becoming a nonprofit group and advocating for better transit with a vision and goals – something still lacking for our own transit system.
TAAG responded to the Transit Business Service Review bringing up concerns, suggestions, and calling out the City when needed. TAAG connected with Councillors, Community groups, and the local media. TAAG also started and supported campaigns for more funding from the federal and provincial governments.
All this was done with the hard work of volunteers. Now we need your help to continue to make transit better.
We need your voice. The next 2 years (2019-2020) are big for transit in Guelph.

And a lot more.
